I am a violinist (and singer) based in Barcelona. While my training is traditional, classical violin and I have previously worked as both an orchestral and chamber violinist as well as a violin, piano and music theory teacher, I was given the opportunity in 2022 to realise a lifetime dream of playing in a band.<\/p>\n

The rest, as they say, is history!<\/p>\n

From an initial collaboration for a single acoustic song, my role in the heavy rock band Sixstrings<\/strong> has developed into a permanent role, not only playing violin in some songs, but also singing backing vocals. Soon after joining Sixstrings, at the start of 2023, I also joined the alternative metal band, Azalea<\/strong>, who were working on their first album. After all, why play one style of music in one band when you can play in two different types of bands?!<\/p>\n

Moving into the world of rock and metal has been an absolute joy! Everything I do is an open door to creativity, from the first inspiration for a new violin part through to performing on stage where every performance becomes unique. Songs and performance style have to adapt in the moment to the conditions, and improvisation becomes a necessity to help manage the (disturbingly insecure) world of performing with electric instruments on stages of every shape and size. As for the audiences: since I’ve been playing with the bands I’ve met some of the most enthusiastic, relaxed and vibrant audiences of my life!<\/p>\n

As Azalea approaches the eagerly anticipated release of their first album in early 2025 and a busy concert schedule through the coming year, Sixstrings are now starting work in the studio on their next album, so I have plenty to keep me busy.<\/p>\n
